The tin packaging

The packaging of product is used to protect, store, and give durability to its content. Packaging has informational function as well to deliver information about the ingredients, process, how to use, and anything related to the products. Another function of packaging is for promotional and sales. Apparently, I sometimes purchased a product because of its packaging :D

I’ve been easily sold by tin packaging lately. The tin or can packaging is reusable, eye-catching, and attractive. Reusable since it can be used for another purpose or transformed into creative products. Eye-catching and attractive for its  bold typography and colorful graphics. On top of that, some cans are designed artistically. I wonder if the packaging-price exceeded the content.

Found & Purchased recently…

Unfashionable me

Short conversation on sunny Wednesday morning …

I was ready to go to the workplace with my housemate.

Me : OK, I’m ready, let’s go…
My housemate (MH): Wait … Something weird about your skirt, looks like it’s bit too short for you.
Me : This is 7/8 skirt not full-length skirt. That’s why I’m wearing stockings as well.
MH : Oops, my mistake. Sorry… So, those are not socks, but stockings… I get it now…

If I’m not mistaken, 9 out of 10 of my unusual-outfit trials were followed by similar conversation :D Sweeeet.

The best job in the world

I’ve just watched short interview with Anna Wintour on TV yesterday. She said that she had the best job in the world. I envy her. Not because her significant influence in fashion industry today nor her magnificent income (hehe), but for her love and great passion to do the job very well.

If we love our job, everyday is a holiday. Double happiness for  doing what we love as a daily routine and raising income.

On the contrary, if we against our job, we’ll miss holiday everyday. If we can’t enjoy doing the job, for some cases, quit is not the most wise option. Perhaps we could do something as:

  1. list all positive things from our job,
  2. try to enjoy what we must do,
  3. think the holiday plan, imagine our dream destination, cool…
  4. turn down the old think melon, like I hate Monday, my job is not fun, I supposed to work somewhere else, etc. This is not easy, but doable,
  5. change our mindset, maybe the problem is inside ourselves.

Anyway, I wonder then, when the next nearest “cuti bersama”? Hehe… :D

Medan, KNSI 2011, and Lake Toba

On February 23rd, I had my first trip to Medan to attend the 7th KNSI (Konferensi Nasional Sistem Informasi) 2011 and for touristy thing. I took direct flight from Surabaya. After 3 hours on the sky, the plane landed at Polonia. Then, my friends and Mr. Lilik picked me up to Swissbel Hotel Medan.

from 17th floor

A view from 17 th floor Swissbel Hotel

I scanned Medan through short journey from Polonia to Jalan S. Parman, Medan is a big city like Surabaya, with its own characteristics and unique culture. I saw a lot of skyscraper buildings and most of them is 4 or 5 star hotel, many viharas, churches, and Mesjid, waw… Too bad I didn’t visit Istana Maimun and Mesjid Raya Al-Mashun.  At about 12 pm, we arrived at Swissbel Hotel, checked in and unpacked. We got room in 17th floor. Huge thanks to my friend Gressia, Mr. Lilik, and Mr. Gunawan for lovely accomodation during our trip in Medan. Read the rest of this entry »

Long Hiatus

Okay, long hiatus for my blog. My last post was on May 2010. A lot of things happened which left me no time to update my blog (read: I was too lazy to write, haha). I need to re-write regularly and consistently. Based on an old magazine article and advice from my supervisor, read and write are two basic activities that keep our brain sharp and productive.

For the last two-week, I also had to stay at home because of my injured-knee. I couldn’t move my right-leg well for that. I finished my policy-reports and all documentations in my bed. Temporarily inability to walk normally has also kept me away from year-end sale which happened almost in all brick & mortar stores. Well honestly, I was still able to do shop (D’oh… I shared the blame with my bookmarks and internet banking :-P ).

Magazine Lover 2

Currently, I’m reading several home magazines, such Living etc UK edition, Ideal Home, Architectural Digest, Seri Rumah Kompas, and House & Garden. I’m about to continue my obsession ;)   I need a lot references about how to build long lasting solid beautiful home with friendly budget. I can’t wait to design the interior of my our home and to shop home-related stuff.  I’m not a formal designer, architect, nor interior designer. But, I love beautiful and fabulous design (well, who doesn’t…), I got a lot inspirations and ideas from design magazines.  So, there’s always a reason to purchase magazines ;)

Most recent purchase:

Better Homes and Gardens, Babyboss March edition (I love the cover, a stunning work of art from Catalina Estrada),  House & Garden, I.D., Living etc.,Ideal Home, Architectural Digest.

Perhaps, I should have a black period of magazine ;)

Pesta Buku Bandung 2010

I love books, so does my husband.

Back to topic… Meskipun Braga Landmark ngga sebesar JHCC, tapi peserta pesta bukunya cukup banyak. Read the rest of this entry »
