The tin packaging
The packaging of product is used to protect, store, and give durability to its content. Packaging has informational function as well to deliver information about the ingredients, process, how to use, and anything related to the products. Another function of packaging is for promotional and sales. Apparently, I sometimes purchased a product because of its packaging 
I’ve been easily sold by tin packaging lately. The tin or can packaging is reusable, eye-catching, and attractive. Reusable since it can be used for another purpose or transformed into creative products. Eye-catching and attractive for its bold typography and colorful graphics. On top of that, some cans are designed artistically. I wonder if the packaging-price exceeded the content.

Magazine Lover 2
Currently, I’m reading several home magazines, such Living etc UK edition, Ideal Home, Architectural Digest, Seri Rumah Kompas, and House & Garden. I’m about to continue my obsession 
I need a lot references about how to build long lasting solid beautiful home with friendly budget. I can’t wait to design the interior of my our home and to shop home-related stuff. I’m not a formal designer, architect, nor interior designer. But, I love beautiful and fabulous design (well, who doesn’t…), I got a lot inspirations and ideas from design magazines. So, there’s always a reason to purchase magazines

Pesta Buku Bandung 2010
Salah satu event yang aku catat di agendaku di bagian Don’t Miss This Event adalah Pesta Buku Bandung 2010 yang berlangsung dari 17 – 23 Februari 2010 (masih ada dua hari lagi lho…). Udah bertekad mau dateng pas pembukaan, apa daya flu menyerang. Akhirnya baru bisa ke Braga Landmark (tempat penyelenggaraan Pesta Buku Bandung 2010) Jumat dan Sabtu kemarin (sehari mana cukup, hehehe).
I love books, so does my husband. Karena itu, kami mengusahakan datang kalau ada pameran buku atau pesta buku. Sayangnya gara-gara ngga tahu, (sok) sibuk, ini itu lainnya, kami sering kelewatan. Terakhir kami ke pameran buku Islam di JHCC akhir tahun 2007. Aku yang mengklaim sebagai pencinta buku ternyata kalah banget dari suamiku. Dari pameran buku di JHCC itu, kami bawa pulang 1 kardus besar isi buku. Yang punyaku 2 buku, sisanya (sekitar 8 buku) punya suamiku, hehehe. Begitu juga kalau lagi jalan-jalan ke toko buku. Terakhir ke Togamas Surabaya, kami pulang bawa 10 buku dan semuanya buku suamiku.
Back to topic… Meskipun Braga Landmark ngga sebesar JHCC, tapi peserta pesta bukunya cukup banyak. Mulai dari Mizan, Gramedia Pustaka Utama, Elex Media Komputindo, Republika, Agro Media, Kanisius, Syaamil, Grafindo, Grasindo, Erlangga, Yrama Widya, Maghfirah Pustaka, sampai stan yang menjual buku per harga 5000, 10.000, 15.000, dan lain-lain. Selain peserta pameran, diadakan juga diskusi bedah buku dan pentas seni di panggungnya. Sabtu kemarin sempat ikutan acara diskusi “Mereka, Buku, dan Bandung” dengan Didi Petet, Drs. Uu Rukmana, M.Si, dan pembicara wanita dari Australia yang tinggal di Bandung (duh… lupa namanya). Read the rest of this entry »

Addition and reason will continue as I’m in hurry to go (I’m alone in the lab right now and it’s kind of spooky…).
Magazine Lover
My First Ten Years
Yes I am a magazine lover. My very first magazine was Bobo, I was 5 years old that time. I remember the price was only Rp 700,- (ketahuan deh, umurku, hehe :p). My favorites were Juwita and Si Sirik, the story of Bobo family, Cerita dari Negeri Dongeng (fairy tales with Okky and Nirmala), also the short story. In short, I read every page of Bobo for years. Besides Bobo, My dad subscribed for me, Aku Anak Saleh seri TK and seri SD. Those were good magazines. I read story about Islamic history, Moslem scientists, articles about nature and its behavior. Then, I learned knowledge of prayer, adab (some say ethics, but IMHO, adab is beyond ethics), fiqih for beginner, tafsir Al Quran and Hadits (in language and way that a 7 years old child can understand). I don’t know whether those magazines still publish nowadays. But, I do hope so.
At 9 years old, I regularly asked my mom to buy Album Ganesha for me… Album Ganesha was edutainment comics mag that explained school subjects, such as Mathematics, History, Science, and English in fun and more understandable method. The history of Airlangga and Kerajaan Kediri, short biography of Yos Sudarso, Kartini, Pangeran Diponegoro; arithmetic and geometric lessons were few examples comics that I enjoyed from Album Ganesha. Beauty Excitement
Dari sejak smp, aku kurang suka pakai kosmetik dekoratif, seperti lipstick (definitely, I can live very well without it … Aku ngga suka rasanya yang lengket dan berat di bibir), keluarga pewarna-warni mata, pipi, dan bagian muka lainnya. Produk kosmetik yang rutin dan selalu aku beli hanya produk bedak muka, pembersih, pelembap, sunblock, fragrance, lip balm, dan body care (hehe, ternyata banyak juga yah… :-p ). Kadang aku juga bereksperimen nyoba produk baru. Paling sering di keluarga body care, macam lotion, sabun, body mist, scrub, body butter, dll, banyak deh. Kalau perawatan muka, jarang banget eksperimen, karena kalau ngga cocok, biasanya tuing… tuing… tumbuh jerawat kecil. Untuk mukaku sehari-hari, aku pakai moisturizer/pelembap + sunblock + loose powder + lip balm + pembersih dan sabun muka, dan tiga hari sekali lotion malam. Read the rest of this entry »
Desain Greenys
Pertama kali aku punya blog tahun 2006, isinya… nyaris ngga ada, hehe. Alasannya klasik banget, karena ngga sempat diisi dan belum tertarik. Trus tiap kali aku tertarik untuk mengisi blog, mengatur setting blog, aku selalu lupa id login ke ira.febdian.net (alamat blog ini), hehe. Kenapa bisa lupa? Apalagi kalau bukan karena terlalu lama dianggurkan.
Tiap kali mau memperbaiki blog, biasanya aku selalu merepotkan Henhen melalui Uda. Mulai mereset id login, menginstal WordPress, memasukkan theme. Hehe, maaf nih hobi banget ngerepotin. Bukannya ngga bisa sendiri, tapi kalau koneksi internet lambat, jadi malas ngutak-ngatik ini itu (alasan memang banyak :p ).
Sejak situs febdian.net diperbarui dan migrasi ke WordPress, aku juga memperbarui desain blog ini. Supaya seragam tapi tetap beda (gimana itu caranya??) aku pakai desain Bluemist. Desain bluemist ini di-supply oleh Henhen.
Kesimpulannya… terima kasih banyak untuk Henhen yang tidak henti-hentinya direpotkan oleh kami berdua, maaf kalau kami terlalu merepotkan, tapi jangan khawatir kehilangan kami karena kami (terutama Uda) ngga pernah bosan merepotkan Henhen. Hehe… yang sabar ya… menghadapi kami

Harga buku yang berjudul “The Complete Guide to Digital Graphic Design” karangan Bob Gordon & Maggie Gordon yang aku lihat di Gramedia Merdeka Bandung siang tadi. Ada juga buku-buku lain tentang desain grafis, desain packaging, color harmony, dan desain logo. Rata-rata harganya 300.000 – 500.000 per buku. Mahal… Gak jadi beli dulu…
